Sony never releases "sold" numbers so I'd be interested if you show a link as proof that this 21 million number is true.
If I'm a Sony fanboy then I love VGchartz because for the most part they over-track PS3 sales compared to NPD.

Wow. That article is flat out wrong. Sony is projecting those sales through the end of march 2009. And being extremely optimistic in doing so, I might add. Somebody should fire that Gamespot writer.

Tekken is not a button mash. In fact, as fighters go Tekken is one of the games you can't get away with button mashing. If you learn the damn moves you wipe the floor with button mashers. this society also loves it World of Warcraft (most popular RPG in the world by a huge margin) also. From the comments in that article I feel bad for a Japanese society that still clings to stereotypes. In today's globalized world it's either adapt or become irrelevant and it looks like the Japanese gaming world is heading towards irrelevancy if they refuse to adapt.
maybe if the Japanese actually played them then they'd know. Besides the RPG was invented in the USA so a JRPG is just a variation on an American format anyway. So what's all this BS about Western games looking weird to the Japanese? The RPG is a western game at its core anyway. All things being equal the difference between a western RPG and a Japanese RPG is not big enough to be a deal breaker.

Resistance can't even hang with Halo 3. you know how much Halo did for first person shooters? heck, COD4 ripped it's 2 weapon system and it's health regeneration system straight from Halo. Without Halo you'd have a health bar and one main weapon like Counterstrike or Quake. Halo has influenced all console shooters even KZ 2. When KZ or Resistance can have the lasting impact of a game like Halo (which I doubt because no one is saying these games are revolutionary) then you get back to me.
